Monroe County Chairman Greg Tapley to Serve as ACCG Sixth District Representative

ATLANTA, GA. (February 7, 2023) – Monroe County Chairman Greg Tapley was recently elected to fill an unexpired term on the 2022-2023 Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG or Georgia’s County Association) Board of Managers. Tapley will represent the Association’s sixth district which includes Monroe, Jones, Putnam, Baldwin, Bibb, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Crawford, Peach, Houston, and Pulaski counties.

“On behalf of the Association staff and our membership, I would like to welcome Chairman Tapley as one of the newest members of the Board of Managers,” said Executive Director Dave Wills. “Elected by their peers, the ACCG Board of Managers is a group of dynamic leaders that serve as decision makers on behalf of our organization.”

Since being elected to the Monroe County Board of Commissioners in 2017, Tapley has served on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Rural Action Caucus as well as the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. Tapley has also served in several leadership positions such as being a member of the Board of Directors of the Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Middle Georgia Clean Air Coalition, and chairman of the I-75 Central Corridor Coalition. As ACCG Sixth District Representative, Tapley will work alongside other board members to lead the Association and guide policies during the next year using his background in insurance and business.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my experiences to the table in serving other counties in our district and the state of Georgia,” said Tapley.
